The Baroque Hairpin is created in collaboration with Trisha Do, whose Vietnamese name Trâm means hairpin. Trisha is a content creator and works with the New York brand Peter Do. This piece carries the spirit of her name through a buffalo horn pin, a curved silver form, a soft baroque pearl and a balance of texture and light. Each hairpin is shaped by hand in Vietnam and is designed to be worn daily or for special moments, adding a soft shine and a natural elegance to the hair.
Releasing on January 17, the hairpin arrives online one month before Tết, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year. In Vietnamese culture, preparing for Tết includes buying or wearing something new to invite renewal and good fortune for the year ahead. A hairpin becomes a symbolic gesture of care and intention. The baroque pearl represents softness, purity and good luck. Buffalo horn reflects strength, grounding and protection. Silver brings clarity, brightness and a sense of new beginnings. Together, these materials create a piece that honours renewal and the energy of stepping into the new year with meaning.
This year marks the Year of the Horse. The horse in the Vietnamese zodiac symbolizes vitality, independence, forward movement and confidence. It encourages momentum and clarity of direction, making the act of adorning oneself with something new especially meaningful as a way to welcome fresh energy.
Each hairpin is packaged in a handmade, hand-sewn silk pouch woven in Vietnam. The drawstrings are finished with either a black buffalo horn bead or an ox bone bead. The silk pouch is available in white or black, according to customer preference.
